  Tiffany Stained Glass Class

Wednesday Morning Classes
Dates:  April 17th - May 22  (6 weeks)     Time:  9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Monday Evening Classes
Dates:  May 13th - June 17th (6 weeks)     Time:  6:00 - 9:00 pm

 
Learn the basics of  Stained Glass using the Tiffany or copperfoil method.  In this 6 weeks class students will make a small suncatcher and construct a small glass panel.  Learn how to cut glass, solder metals and build a simple metal frame for the panel.  Characteristics of glass will also be discussed.  Most tools are provided, but the student will need to purchase supplies for the small glass panel and a glass cutter.  Cost:  $150 plus purchase of supples for second project and glass cutter (estimated cost of cutter and supplies $60) 

 

  Acrylic and Mixed Media Painting Class

Dates:  May 14th, 21th and 28st
Time: 6:30 - 9 pm                                                           

 

This class is geared for the beginner or experienced painter who would like to build painting skills while working with acrylic paints.  Techniques in paint application along with use of a variety of mediums will be explored.  We will also discuss and play with using mixed media to enhance your paintings.  Students will need two 12" x 12" canvases.  All other supplies provided.  Cost:  $90 plus $5 supply fee.  

 

 

  Beginning Watercolor

 Friday Morning Class  (3 sessions)

Dates:   May 17, 24 and 31

 Time:  9:30 am - 12 noon

Would you like to watercolor but don't know where to begin?  In this class we will cover brushes, type of paper and basic information about watercolor paints.  a different watercolor technique will be introduced and explored each week.  Learn to work with the beautiful flow of watercolors on a variety of surfaces.  A supply list will be provided for the class and paper can be purchases at the studio.  cost:  $90 plus supplies.  

  

Personal Shrine Workshop

 Saturday Afternoon Workshop

Date:   May 25th

 Time:  1 - 5 pm

Come Create a unique piece of artwork using mixed media materials.  In this workshop you will  make a personal shrine or memory box using your photographs and personal items that you have collected or choose from a large variety of items provided in the class. This box can be used to make something beautiful or commemorate someone you cherish.  Each Workshop session is 4 hours on Saturday and cost is $45 dollars.  Sign up for one class or come each time and create more special shrines.  

 

  Visual Journal on Steroids

Thursday Evening  Class                                                                        

 Dates:   Thursdays:  May 9th, 16th, 23rd and Tuesday May 28th

 Time:  7 pm  - 9 pm

This 4 week class will explore choosing papers to construct a journal, creating signatures, visual journalling techniques and binding the journal using a beautiful old book cover.   Week 1:  Once papers have been chosen and divided,  backgrounds will be painted using several water color and acrylic techniques.         Week  2:  Collage and drawing techniques     Week #3 will include text and embellishing.       Week 4:  Binding, tabs and any final touches will finish class #4.

Students will leave with a beautifully bound journal filled with inspirational pages that you create yourselves!  All Materials (including old book covers) will be provided.  (you may want to bring your own book with a beautiful cover, any interesting papers or materials you may have or love to use.  Cost:  $85 for 4 weeks

  

Circle of Life Jewelry Workshop

In this workshop you will learn to twist and turn wire to create these wonderful earring and ring.  Using the wire and beads, learn to create these birdmest accessories.  All supplies included in tuition.    Cost:  $45

  Make a Flower Suncatcher

Learn the basics of stained glass in this fun Make a suncatcher class.  You will create a beautiful stained glass flower out of glass using the Tiffany Method of stained glass.  Learn to cut glass and solder.  You will leave the class with a beautiful flower suncatcher or plant stake for yourself or that special someone.   Cost:  $35  All supplies included.

 

Painting from your Heart and Soul

Thursday Evening Workshop    Date: May 16    Time:  6 - 9 pm                                                         

 Open the gateway to your inner creative landscape.  Dive into your depths and learn a fun, siple and easy process of painting/drawing to access images from within.  Take a taste of Touch Drawing.  You will leave with 15 - 30 images to use in your own creative process.  We will also explore ways to enhance your images at home.  No art experience necessary.  Please wear your "arty" (old) clothes.  All Supplies provided.  Take home supplies can be purchased at studio.

Architectural Three Color Reduction Prints

Instructor:  Crystal Nelson

  Saturday Class, 10 - 5 pm      February 16  (lunch break 1 -2 pm)

 

 Learn basic relief printmaking skills such as choosing an image, drawing and transferring the image, and carving the block. You will also learn how to create a 3 color reduction print from one carved block.

 Come with an architectural image you would like to work from or use Crystal's.  Once your edition of prints has been pulled you will also pull a unique collaged print.  Cost:  $85

Learn a new technique of painting using the watercolor batik method.   This process is similar to the age old technique where melted wax is applied to fabric as a resist and then the fabric is dipped in dye.   In watercolor Batik the wax is applied to rice paper and paints are used to add the color.  The process gives a beautiful one of a kind batik painting.  All supplies and tools included in price of workshop.  $35
