"Mokey" Lee Davidson was born in Goose Creek, Texas, on March 7th, 1947. The first seven years of his life were spent along the Texas Coast and in Austin, but the rest of his school years were spent traveling around the western hemisphere. He lived in Panama from age seven until ten and Northern Missouri and Washington, D.C. while eleven and twelve. A big influence was living in Rio de Janerio, Brazil, and loving it, until he returned to San Antonio, Texas at age sixteen. Mokey graduated from South West Texas State University in 1970 with a B.S. in Industrial Arts. After Graduation he promptly joined the U.S. Navy and served on a U. S. Navy Destroyer in the Pacific and in Vietnam. After the Navy, Mokey returned to Texas, graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1976 with a B.F.A. in Art. He spent the next twenty-six years as a high school teacher in Texas, teaching Metal Shop, Art and Photography. After retiring from teaching in the Texas public school system, Mokey returned to school as a student graduating from Texas Woman's University with a Masters of Arts in Ceramics in 2007. Mokey also took ceramics classes at the University of North Texas. He was invited to work at Mountain View College as the Ceramics Lab Tech in the Spring semester of 2008. The following semester he was hired as an Adjunct Teacher as Mountain View College teaching Ceramics, where he is currently employed.
